JetBrains, who teased us with Scala support early on but it turned out to be just some dudes playing around until they got pulled back to their real work on a Groovy plug-in (because that was the serious language with the businessy future… last year) is planning to support Scala in their next major version. It will be a separately installed plug-in, and if you download an IDE snapshot you can test it out already. And there’s a discussion forum all about this plug-in. For serious! Way to go j.b.! They could have owned the market a year ago when there were no usable Scala IDE plug-ins close to being finished, but it’s not too late to win some new customers by being the best. Certainly we’ll be paying attention (and spieling). { previously }
