Watch out Slate, it’s the Apple iTV
Just when you thought Paul Boutin’s Slate piece about your lack of an “Apple iTV” couldn’t be more wrong, Apple actually does announce a product tentatively called the iTV (to mock P.B. ?).
From Bousse-tin’s piece:
…homes are consolidating around a two-hub model. A PC (or Mac) with some multimedia features anchors the home office, while a TV with some computerized gear—think TiVo, not desktop computer—owns the living room.
No Paul, think “iTV.” Think that maybe the first company to make a good portable, synchronized MP3 player could handle the pesky TV-integration problem.
Or don’t think—keep gettin’ the dirt from your “tech-savvy friends,” and writing about it in Slate’s tech-unsavvy column.
